Habitat for Humanity

We are pledged to build Habitat for Humanity Methodist Houses in conjunction with other United Methodist Churches of St. Charles, Warren and Lincoln counties. Build on teams or provide lunches to the work crews.

Time: 2-6 hours any Saturday. See schedule at the Starting Points desk during builds.

Sewing & Knitting Ministry

Items made for Alzhimer's Organization, Children's hospitals and more.

Shepherd's Chefs

Lunch is prepared and served every Wednesday by COS teams at the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen in St. Charles by the Shepherd's Chefs.

Time: 3.5 hours mnthly (10a-1:30p) Wednesdays) Teams are schedule in advance.

Epworth Children's Home

Providing fellowship and activities for residential youth in the Epworth program.

Time: 1-2 hours monthly/3rd Tuesday of month, 5:30-7:30p

Family Missions

Involving families, children and adults in serving together in our community through hands-on projects.

Time: Varies. Opportunities are communicated in the Soul Street e-news.

Food Pantries

Non-perishable food items are collected weekly and distributed to two local food pantries. Volunteers also work at the pantries stocking shelves and helping where they are needed.

Time: 3-6 hours monthly (Thursdays 10-11:30a at Oasis)

Family Friends

Outreach to families at St. Louis Children's Hospital who are in crisis, providing them with personal care items the first days of their child's hospitalization.

Time: 1.5 hours monthly/Wednesdays 6:30-8:00p at COS

Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas Blessings

Families in need in the metropolitan area are provided food, gifts and assistance during the holiday season.

Time: 1-3 hour shifts sorting gifts of all kinds

Military Missions

Collets items for men and women in the Armed Forces.

Time: 1 hour monthly

Misson Outreach

Day, weekend and week long missions are available on local, national, and international levels which include construction, rehab, disaster, recovery, gleaning, Vacation Bible School and education.

Time: Varies with individual needs that are identifitied throughout the year at the Starting Points desk.

WE CARE fund

This fund provides financial assitance for those in crisis or in transitional periods in our church family and community.

Time: financial donations to help others can made out to COS, with WE CARE in the memo line. Staff adminsters.

Joplin Monthly Missions

Small teams of volunteers to help rebuild Joplin, Missouri, will be sent each month for a weekend. No skills required.
